The topic of paranormal activity is often one that is considered either taboo or fictional. With horror movies depicting terrifying attacks and television show dramatizing what seems to be nothing into a ghost saying the host's name, paranormal experiences have been highly discredited, even with sufficient evidence. That being said, the existence of ghosts and spirits, though controversial, has been proven and demonstrated over time. I, personally, have been able to interact with ghosts in the city of Minneapolis while being lead on a ghost tour of the town. This article is not meant to offend anyone, nor does anyone have to take it completely seriously. Your beliefs are ultimately up to you, this is just my experience.
Upon entering the building where the ghost tour began, it was evident that the people in charge knew exactly what we were looking for, providing us with equipment to detect the ghosts and even telling us about them by name and supporting each one with news stories from the times in which they lived and died. The tour began with a powerpoint describing the buildings in the area, when they were built, what happened in them, and who we could interact with. After this, we jumped right in, exiting the building to visit the outdoor ghosts, particularly one called "Wolf Man." Wolf Man lived a long time ago, unfortunately a homeless war veteran and slightly psychologically insane. One Christmas day, a father gifted his two sons a gun. They were playing with it outside, shooting at a box, but they did not know that Wolf Man was inside of it. He tragically died and has stayed in the area since then. At this time, we did not hear much from him, so we went back into the building and into the connection basements of the other buildings around it. Once again, it was difficult to capture anything through EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenons) or EMF meters, which detect electromagnetic fields and static electricity. The only information we had found was through the ghost detectors we were provided with and the app "Ghost Radar Classic," in which ghosts could use energy surrounding them to communicate specific words into the app.
It was not until we reached a dark hallway that we were able to capture something big. Our tour guide began to ask questions to the spirits and eventually asked our group if we had any questions. My dad, who took me to this tour and sparked my interest in the world of ghosts, asked if the ghosts would touch one of us. This made people nervously laugh and question why he would do that, but it seemed that nothing was happening. Our tour guide repeated the question, and shortly after this, I felt someone blow on the back of my neck. I know this feeling well, I have three younger sisters who know how much I hate when people touch the back of my neck, but I assumed that the person next to me had just breathed heavily or something. I nervously asked the tour guide if the ghosts ever blew on people's necks, and she responded excitedly with "Oh, that's Max, he loves teasing girls!" She began to address Max, one of the mine workers who often visited the showgirls, directly. She asked some questions about why he was here and what he was doing, but he was reluctant about responding. She then asked if he would touch someone else. Almost immediately, he blew on my neck again, harder this time as if to express that he specifically chose me. At this point, I decided I wanted to try talking to him.
"Hi!" I started off simply, "Is there a reason you like me so much?" The group and I waited in silence, everyone holding their detectors to me to see the large spike in activity.
"Does she remind you of someone?" My tour guide asked him. There was no response. I addressed him again.
"Do you just like me?" We heard a very distinct "Yes." The other people in the group began to chatter and figure out what happened. I asked him if he like my hair and other people began to pick up words in their apps like "soft" and "brush." He even said that he liked my smell. People began to get excited about it and tried asking him more things, but it was not until I spoke again (not to him, just in general) that he said "Lay down." My tour guide laughed and said that this was the point that we should probably move on, with everyone else giggling and my dad laughing about how I got hit on by a ghost. I was told to say goodbye to Max so that he would not follow me, and we moved on. The rest of the tour was pretty uneventful, with very few things being heard besides the name "Mike." There was a man named Mike on our tour, however we are not sure if that was coincidental.
After we finished the tour, my dad and I decided to go back outside and try to talk to Wolf Man alone. My dad began a separate recording (he had recorded the tour to see of we could capture any EVP's on our own), and we greeted Wolf Man by name. The energy around me was very high, but nothing was happening with my dad there. Because of this, he gave me his phone with the app and walked in the other direction to see if the ghosts would talk to me without him there. As soon as he left and I began pacing, multiple ghosts showed up on the screen of the phone, and I immediately asked questions about why they would not talk with my dad there or with the tour there, and why there were so many of them at the moment. As soon as those words escaped my mouth, the screen came up with the word "better." I asked if that meant that they liked me better or it was better that they were in a group, and after a few moments, they said "you." I asked a few more questions about who they were with no luck, but when I went back to asking why they liked me, they responded with "lips." I laughed at this and my dad asked if they had said anything, walking back toward me, and the ghosts immediately disappeared.
We left after this and listened to our recordings in the car. In the tour recording, we captured a woman crying at the point where the tour guide was talking about a woman who lived there who had gotten an abortion from a doctor twho gave them for free and it had killed her along with the baby. We also heard a cat-call whistle at one point which could not have been from a person, because it was while we were in basement with no one around us, and it was not audible when it occurred.
My experience on this tour, in my opinion, was very entertaining, and gave me reassurance that ghosts have a sense of humor, they are not always the demons we imagine. Once again, this is not meant to persuade anyone of anything, it is meant to share my own experience.
