After 2.5 Years Of Talking, I Finally Packed My Bags And Flew Across The World To Meet My BFF
Rachel Neal

2.5 years ago, I met my best friend Hannah because we both liked the same singer and had a fan account for them.

We didn't interact much at first besides liking each other's photos, but I began following her personal account and one day decided to DM her asking to talk more and be friends.

We've talked every single day since.

2.5 years. Endless amounts of texts and FaceTime calls.

I lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while she lived across the ocean in Northern Ireland.

Of course, it's so expensive to book flights, but after being friends for so long, I decided it was worth it.

So in January of 2019, I spontaneously bought a roundtrip ticket to go meet my best friend in July and hang out with her for two weeks straight.

I couldn't believe it.

The months went by so quickly in between and the time finally came to pack my bags and get on the 6+ hour flight. This was my first time flying alone while also leaving the country, so I was a nervous (but also excited) wreck.

The flight went by in the blink of an eye, and before I knew it, I was in the arms of my best friend who I've only known through a screen for the past couple of years.

It felt so surreal.

We had the best two weeks of our lives, consisting of long drives to sightsee, getting smoothies from Tim Horton's any chance we could, spending all our money on clothes, and more.

It doesn't feel like it actually happened because it just seemed like a scenario too good to be true. But it did happen, I saved up my money and worked endless hours at my job all to afford this trip.

I got to meet my internet best friend and do all the things we constantly talked about doing.

I seriously wouldn't trade those two weeks I spent in Ireland for the world, and I miss it so much already and am eager to go back sometime in the future.

So to Hannah, thank you for being my best friend, thank you for giving me some of the best memories of my life, and simply thank you for everything.

I miss you and I can't wait to see you again.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
