Imagine perfection. Think hard about what encapsulates this sense of being. What features build this work of art in your mind that deems it as beautiful? Hone in on the miniscule details that only a microscope can catch. Fall space years into the depths of a rabbit hole of hypnosis, so far that you forget you were even in a trance. Allow your mind to wander to uncharted territory of judgement. Let the thoughts consume your focus, allowing all attention to be solely devoted on this one task. Determine what standards qualify as the ultimate individual. Does an individual with no to little imperfections spark a string… but why?
It is only in our nature to follow the path that most walk. By turning the tides and creating a new cobblestone road, it is not only going against the consensus, but also the conformity of the whole. Individuals, as much as we like to strive to be unique, find it much easier to go along with what the crowd wants. It takes less effort to walk a path that has already been built than to manifest a destiny of your own.
As humans we feed into our vices. Overall, most vices are the outcome of one thing; selfishness. Vices are addictions. They are immoral. Wrong. We tend to blame and cast fingers at society when life takes a plunge into the deep end. The sadistic truth in this is that we are society. Like it or not we all are part of the equation that causes the hell and heaven on earth. Our actions cause reactions. What we do not only affects us, but dominos to those surrounding us. This is why it is in our hands to change the mindsets of eachother by starting with the mirror.
The word flawless has a negative connotation that originally is meant as a complement. At first glance the term seems positive, but really has a negative impact and consequences. It is a temporary uplift to one’s self esteem when someone calls them ‘flawless’. However, in the long run it only goes downhill. If we are always attempting to look our best 24/7...is that even living? To what extent are we willing to pursue the glorification of others opinions until we care more about the exterior as our realness drifts and fades into reality. The truth is it will never be enough.
So, why live a life pretending to be something we are not and just let our natural form conquer our existence? Dig for the grit to embrace what you do have instead of changing into something you are not.
Beauty is seen in many shades and lenses. It is the directions to color inside the lines that you ignore anyways. It is messy and astonishing in the many forms it lives in. A system of categorization cannot box these colors and shapes into the lines. Beauty is freedom since no other person has the same marks and curves you own. Flawlessness is just a term that creates a stigma of order, while on the contrary beauty should consist of a spectrum of disarray.
