Whether I'm stopping between classes or I need a morning pick-me-up, an amazing cup of coffee is something that I'm willing to spend good money on. In Saint Augustine, there are so many little coffee shops, and each of them bring something different to the table. If you happen to be looking for a quick cup of coffee around town or you just want to find a new spot, then this is for you.
The Kookaburra
The Kookaburra is the trendiest coffee shop in Saint Augustine. This Australian-themed shop sells espresso drinks that will make you a caffeine addict and muffins that are the perfect in-class breakfast.
Personal favorite menu item: The Honey Badger (because I just don't care)
City Perks
City Perks is the best place to get your morning cup o' joe. It's located conveniently on the walk from the parking garage to Flagler College's campus, and the staff is quick and friendly. They also have an awesome courtyard if you have time to stop and sip.
Perks of stopping at City Perks: There are tons of flavoring options and delicious pastries!
The Chocolate Turtle
The Chocolate Turtle is the best place to sit and catch up with friends or study. With two outdoor patios and two inside seating areas, this dessert and coffee bar has plenty of seating. They serve some great drip coffee and the desserts are even better. Treat yo'self!
Pro tip: When meeting with friends, find Scrabble under the table downstairs and play!
Café del Hidalgo
While Café del Hidalgo may have a random assortment of sandwiches, salads, coffee, and gelato, their lattes are to die for. While you're in for a coffee, do not forget to try the gelato! It's fantastic!
How to avoid looking like a tourist here: Do not stand right in front of the doorway. Move along to the gelato counter or the register.
Crucial Coffee
Crucial Coffee is the ideal choice to grab a latte when you are out walking your dog. With their walk-up window and cute little outdoor garden seating, Crucial is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee that looks like a work of art with your fur baby.
Florida winter secret: You can still sit outside here at night with their wood burning stoves to warm you up!
