Four Women Who Represent Me

Classy women vs. nasty women.

"I am a nasty woman" — a message that has been adopted by these women to empower other women.

Nothing says women empowerment like sitting naked on a toilet while eating cake, and doing the spread eagle, am I right?

They slander our president and law enforcement; encourage abortions, blowing up the white house, and giving blow jobs in return for votes. They lie and say they're Native American and they shame and bully the First Family.

Lena Dunham, Elizabeth Warren, Meryl Streep, Madonna, Chelsea Handler, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus- just a few of the many women who claim to be the voice of all women fighting for the rights and struggles that women apparently don't already have.

Well, I disagree.

These women benefit from nothing but fame and fortune... they don't "struggle". If there were footage out there of me half naked, grinding on stage, I don't think potential employers would ever consider me. But women like these can say and do what they want with virtually no consequences. Heck, they can plot the assassination of our president, the secret service might check them out, then end up getting their autograph instead of putting them in cuffs.

These women don't represent me. They represent fame and entertainment. They aren't role models for all women, maybe a small portion but definitely not all. However, the mainstream media has painted these figures as "queens" and the ultimate female role models. When in reality, there are millions of women that make far more of a positive impact.

Here are a list of women who represent me as a woman. Women who I admire and look up to and strive to have the same qualities as in both my professional and personal life:

1. Tomi Lahren

Tomi Lahren is a prime example of a woman who worked hard to get where she got — one of my role models, and no, she didn't have to be half naked to become one.

Tomi is a University of Nevada, Las Vegas political science and journalism graduate who was hoping to find an internship in political commentary, but was instead offered the opportunity to host her own show. She is currently running a successful show as an American television host, and a conservative political commentator on the Blaze with her "Final Thoughts" all while being passionate and intelligent while doing it.

Patriotic, determined, passionate, intelligent — in my eyes, are just a few of the words that describe Tomi. She works hard to educate Americans, she challenges them to think outside of the box, and of course, never forgets to represent her red, white, and blue colors. I strive to follow in her foot steps when it comes to conserving the land of the free.

2. Ida B. Wells

Ida B. Wells was an African-American journalist and activist who led an anti-lynching crusade in the United States in the 1890's. Throughout her lifetime, she has fought hard for women and African rights. She never let anything bring her down not even when was forcibly removed from the train after having bought a first-class train ticket to Nashville.

Among the many incredible things Ida accomplished for African and women rights, Ida, as part of her work with the National Equal Rights League, called for President Woodrow Wilson to put an end to discriminatory hiring practices for government jobs. She created the first African-American kindergarten in her community and fought for women's suffrage.

Through her writings, speeches and protests, Wells continuously fought against prejudice, no matter what potential dangers she faced. With Ida in mind, I hope that in my writing I can have a voice and spread the truth and knowledge.

3. Ivanka Trump

Entrepreneur, wife, mother, entrepreneur and founder of #WomenWhoWork— a network of women supporting other women, Ivanka Trump has devoted her career to celebrate working women, and has made it her mission to make an impact on the lives of the women buying her products. She calls it “Women Who Work,” where her main focus is on women who make the daily transition between their numerous roles in professional and personal magnitudes: constructing strong careers, raising and nurturing children, caring for relationships and pursuing passions.

She constantly works hard on building her career all while encouraging women to pursue their dreams. Ivanka is classy, not nasty, and she inspires me to work hard and to be confident in myself.

4. Lila Rose

Lila Rose is another example of a woman who stands up for women and their rights to this day — that includes the extreme amount of pressure the left has put on women in society to get abortions.

Lila is the founder and president of Live Action, a human rights, nonprofit organization dedicated to ending abortion and inspiring a culture that respects and protects life. She founded Live Action when she was 15 years old.

She works to spread the truth about abortions, and counter the deliberate misinformation campaign of the multi-billion dollar abortion industry and lobby. Lila promotes respect for human dignity through national media campaigns, investigative reporting, and targeted youth education programs.

If there are any women that are the voice of all women, it should these four women. Tomi, Ida, Ivanka, Lila... the list continues of many women who continue to fight for the American flag, speak up about the rights of the people, encourage and uplift other women, work hard, and promote human dignity. We can't let "nasty" become the motto that we as women live by. We are much more than that.

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
