As Spring Break comes to a close, we all go through some withdrawals. Some severe, some not so much. The cruel reality dawns upon us, and we're thrown back into life with a month of school left. And that month of school lasts an eternity.
1. Food.
There's no more sleep whenever/wherever you want. Keeping your eyes open during class is nearly impossible. And napping is a rarity with all the final assignments coming your way. So you master the power naps, hoping you don't keel over at of sheer exhaustion.
3. Freedom.
The school owns you again. It's not your time, it's their time. Your sense of freedom is nonexistent. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it sure feels like it's taken away from you. You were teased for one glorious week, and then all the responsibilities come flooding back. But take heart, fellow students - we will prevail!
4. Travel.
Over the break, you probably mapped out the rest of your life, planning to never return home and simply start a beautiful, tropical life. Or maybe you came to the conclusion that you would spend your life traveling. However, these dreams crash and burn as you go back to school, realizing you don't have the extra cash to afford a gourmet Taco Bell meal, much less an adventurous lifestyle.
5. Sunlight.
Once you've accepted that the tropical paradise won't be your home, you sulk back to the shadows of the cavernous dorm room. The large, dull lecture halls bore you more than ever before. The monotonous life that is school has returned. So you sit in the dark dorm room, looking longingly toward better days.
But wait! There's just a month left. Summer break is literally just around the corner. So snap out of the sulky mood. You may have fantasized a new life, hoping, praying, wishing, dreaming that school wouldn't come, but it is here. Just remember everyone is dying, but we're all in this together. And somehow we all seem to miraculously push through, reaching the light at the end of the tunnel (aka summer).
