Finding interesting ways to walk with God can be hard. Most people simply read the bible and pray, which is fine and dandy, if that's how you worship and grow a relationship with God. For anyone who doesn't feel like this fully works to better your relationship with God, here are some fun or crafty ideas to help you out!

1. For the Music lovers

More often than not, music lovers love to worship through singing praise and worship songs, but sometimes we find ourselves wanting more. Stop singing to God and let him sing to you! Turn some wordless music, like soundtracks or classical music, close your eyes and just listen. God may speak to you through visions or by the emotion or name of a song. When one sticks out to you take note of it and pray about it!

2. For the Writers

Writers often find themselves lost in the traditional worship setting. The music just doesn't resonate as much with them, and if it does its because of a poetic stream of lyrics. Bring a journal with you to church and take notes of words and quotes that hit you, and use a journal for prayer, to better organize your thoughts and spend time with God. Keep a separate journal for when you get a sudden urge to write. God will speak to you through your writing.

3. For the Artists

Many artists like to move their hands and create. It can be insanely hard to sit still and listen when it comes to church and spending time in the word. Let scripture inspire you. If you get an image during your quiet time with God, take some time to paint it or draw it out, make images that inspire you. God can easily speak through art.

4. For the Dancers

Dancers love to move. For dancers, movement is a trained art form and is a beautiful thing to behold. In traditional church settings, we are often restrained by rows of chairs, pews and countless obstacles that get in the way. Not to mention other church goer's don't always enjoy the fact that we move around so much. Try to find a church with an open space for worship, a place that allows you to freely move. In your spare time let yourself be inspired by praise and worship songs and just dance! If a song moves you, create your own dance for it!

5. For the Quote-Inspired

If you just really like good quotes and sticky notes, use some colorful pens to make word art, and write down quotes that speak to you, as well as bible verses. Then go crazy and decorate your walls with them, they will inspire you daily, not to mention they are so fun to make!

I hope this article helps you to find a deeper relationship with God, that truly fits your style of worship! Please suggest any other methods I didn't include!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever.
