"Everything happens for a reason", so the saying goes. A lot of times, we tend to complain on why bad things happen to go people, and we worry that nothing good will ever come out of this. I believe these people are negative Nellies. Okay but seriously, cheer up buttercup! Life is an ongoing adventure of things not going our way and us having to go with the flow. Here are my five tips on how to remain positive when the outlook seems grim.

1. Get a good night's sleep.

I guarantee one of the main reasons life is not going your way is because you are too busy stressing about it and not even focusing on something that matters, like sleep. We all love it. We all live for it. Heck, at some point we all have longed to go back to kindergarten just for a day so we could take advantage of nap time. Seriously, drop the pencil, drop the work, and drop your eyelids. You can thank me later.

2. Focus on the positive!

If you were focusing on the positives, this article would serve no purpose to you right now. Push all the negativity and stress to the side just for a moment and focus on something good. Sure, you may have a five page essay due tomorrow, but at least your hair looks good. Hey, you may have to work a double shift today, but at least you got a good nights rest! You see what I mean? All the crap that seems unmanageable can be easily managed with a little bit of positivity.

3. Eat something you love.

Okay, this one may sound like an excuse to devour some coffee ice cream and dill pickle chips, but it works! Something as simple as having a favorite snack can turn that frown upside down! As the wise Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle once said, "Treat yo self!" Enough said.

4. Take a break.

To some, this one may sound like I just uttered a curse word. "What? A break? There is just not enough time in the day!" Yes, there is. There is always going to be time for a break, whether it is a five minute one or a five hour one. We all deserve a moment to relax. Just stop what you are doing and take a chill pill. If you just take a break, you will feel more relaxed, and more positive about the challenges you are currently facing.

5. Have faith.

In my opinion, the single most important thing you can do when all seems wrong is to have faith. Put everything into God's hands and He will take care of it for you. Trust in Him, and all your worries will wash away. Never doubt what He is doing in your life, because like I mentioned earlier, "everything happens for a reason."

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
