5 Ways To Feel Energized Without Coffee

In This Article:

Once you've become hooked on coffee it can be hard to go a day without it. But this acidic and bloating beverage is not the only solution to your mid-day drowsiness. Try one of these methods for a healthier and cheaper option than your usual trip to Starbucks!

1. Bang Energy Drinks

Don't underestimate this new popular drink- it has no sugar or calories, making it one of the healthiest energy drinks on the market. While it is lacking sugar, this does not mean it is lacking caffeine. Bang energy drinks contain immense amounts of caffeine- over 300mg per can! If you need a major boost of energy before a workout or a long day ahead, try Bang energy drinks.

2. Eat more apples

If you're looking for a lighter energy boost, try eating an apple! While apples do not have any caffeine in them, they have a decent amount of natural sugars which will wake up your brain and provide a natural boost. Besides this, apples are much more beneficial to our daily diets than coffee.

3. Drink ice cold water

Preferably first thing in the morning, drink a large glass of cold water to alert your mind and flush any toxins in your body. I find that drinking cold water, especially on an early morning, is a good way to stimulate your brain.

4. Try drinking green or black tea.

For a healthier alternative, still with decent amounts of caffeine, opt for a glass of iced or hot tea. Tea is much better for your digestion and even has calming effects on people. Iced green tea is perfect for a hot day, without the bloating and headaches that come with drinking coffee.

5. Take a power nap

Sometimes when you feel you're losing energy, it may be because your body needs a little more rest. There's nothing wrong with a mid-day power nap to keep you going. Whether it's 10 minutes to an hour, resting your body and mind is always beneficial.

Keep a little extra money in your pocket with these cheaper and healthier alternatives to coffee. No longer are the days of headaches, bloating and cravings for Starbucks overrated beverages. Keep yourself motivated and energized with these five alternatives!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
