Jesus is the way and the truth

Five Ways Jesus Makes Us Better People
Mariam Kesto

It is impossible for a Christian person to imagine life without Jesus in it. Christians live by example, and that is Jesus. As a Christian, you want to do everything right and feel the desire to please God with all that you do and think about. Personally, I do not know what I would do without my belief in Jesus. There are an infinite ways Jesus makes us better people but here are the ways I find most important.

1. With Jesus, we are wiser

Jesus was always wise and he always made the right choices because He is God and perfect in every way. As Christians, we tend to follow Him and therefore, we are wiser. We are so careful with everything we do because we don’t want to let anyone down, especially Jesus. We avoid being unethical as much as we can and we aim on being fair and nice to everyone around us.

2. With Jesus, we are caring for the people around us

Jesus wants everyone to love one another. He said “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” His love is so great and we are more caring for the people around us because of Him. We tend to forgive and move on and we let go of the evil that we might have inside of us with Jesus. We don’t let ourselves hate anyone because we know that’s not what Jesus wants, on the contrary, He wants us to care about everyone no matter how good or bad they treat us.

3. With Jesus, we sin less

Although sin is a sin, Jesus does help us sin less. We know, through our faith, that sinning is going to hell. So, we want to avoid sinning as much as we can and we pray and repent when we do sin. A sin can erupt a person’s life and I feel like Jesus is with us to protect us from any eruption.

4. With Jesus, we love and appreciate life

Jesus came to the world for us, to save us from sin and to remind us that this life is not the only life we will have. Due to this fact, we love and appreciate this life and we look forward for the next life. Jesus always teaches us to feel blessed and we always feel Him around us guiding us through every step as we grow older.

5. With Jesus, we are reborn every Christmas

Christmas is the birth of Jesus and our birth. On Christmas, we are reminded that we are so loved by God that He sent us his only Son to save us. Every Christmas, we feel blessed and we come to realize more and more that God wants us to be doing good things and to always turn to him no matter what we go through.

With Jesus, everything is better. I Love Jesus and I would not be who I am if I didn’t have Him. He is the light of my life and He makes me the best person I can be.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
