Finals week is fast approaching but spring has only just sprung. The urge to sit on the quad and ignore all responsibilities is oh so real, but what if you could do both?
Plot twist: you can.
1. It takes some serious self-control, but you can sit on the quad AND do work
Wild right?
Grab a blanket and your laptop and crank out that paper that’s due tomorrow while enjoying the sun you haven’t seen in a solid 4 months.
This isn’t the only way to enjoy the spring weather and pass all your classes, though.
2. Take a break from studying and take a walk
If you’re like me, you haven’t had time to even think about going to the gym for a solid month or so. You haven’t had exercise, you haven’t had sun, and you’re too stressed and tired to even think about reading the next chapter of your textbook.
Solution? Take a break and take a walk in that wonderful sun you’ve been missing.
3. Work in a study break every couple hours
Sounds like I’m advocating for procrastination, doesn’t it? Every few hours it’s good to take a break and refresh your mind, though. Sitting in one spot for hours on end reading the same textbook can result in your mind not even comprehending what you’re reading.
There’s an easy solution though. Take a 10- or 20-minute break every 2 or 3 hours to stretch your legs and give your brain a break.
4. Get your favorite iced beverage from Starbucks
While your on that walk, stop by your neighborhood Starbucks to get your caffeine fix. What better way to enjoy spring than to switch gears from the hot coffee and latte menu to the new and exciting world of iced drinks.
Iced coffee, Refreshers, and iced lattes, what more could you need to provide that caffeine boost needed to study and finish writing papers?
5. Get your lunch or dinner to go and eat outside
Lunch and dinner are the perfect study break so why not take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the sun? Grab a blanket, a few friends, and maybe even a frisbee and enjoy a break for a bit.
While finals week may be totally bringing you down, hopefully these tips will help to keep you not only surviving, but thriving.
