5 Thoughts Of A Typical Midwesterner When It Starts Snowing, AGAIN

If you are from the Midwest, you have experienced winter after winter, but that doesn't take away from the fact that winter is a pain in the butt. It takes special people to be able to deal with winter year after year, in negative degree weather. Here are five common things that we think when the first snow flake drops. Bundle up, it's going to be a cold one!

1. "Not again!"

We know to expect it each year, but every time it breaks our heart that we are now stuck with snow for five months. We hope that the snow decides to wait until December to snow. However, we all know that it will probably snow before that.

2. "I hope it blizzards, so I don't have to go to class tomorrow."

Whether you are trying to avoid work or school, there is always that small hope that snow will cancel things we don't want to go to. However, I guess snow only wants to cancel plans we ACTUALLY want to do.

3. "Time to move!"

We might expect the snow every year, but there are some times where we are over it. There are many days where I have just wanted to pack a small bag and get out of my cold state but somehow I am still here.

4. "I need a vacation!"

Nothing sounds better than basking in the sun or swimming in the warm ocean. Many of us that are fortunate enough will hop on a plane to go on a much needed vacation. It is always in the back of our minds that our flight might get cancelled due to a blizzard, but we don't care. We will do anything to get out of the freezing cold!

5. "Have fun in the ditch."

Chances are you have driven through a blizzard unintentionally and it never fails that there are people that drive way too fast. Apparently driving 85 on the icy roads seems like a good idea to them and every time they pass you, you never fail to think ,"Have fun in the ditch." Some of us have the mind set that we can still speed on the interstate when the roads are horrible. However there are some of us that drive slower when the roads are icy because we don't want to end up in the ditch.

It takes certain people to live in the freezing cold for multiple months as it is not for everyone. We all know that the snow is coming but we pray that it waits a while before it does. However, it never fails that when that first snow flake drops, we have a lot of emotions about it. Living in a cold climate only gets worse year by year, but somehow we have not moved yet.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
