Five Things You Should Thank Your Mom Friend For
One Mother to Another

We all loves our moms, but nothing can beat the comfort our mom friends give us. They're there to keep us safe, well fed, and on track to a bright future. In appreciation of all the mom friends out there, here's five things we should all be thanking our mom friends for. From one mom friend to the next let's begin.

1. We never let you go hungry, thirsty, sunburned, bug bit, etc. because we are always packing.

When you start to get hangry, your mom friend saves the day by whipping out your favorite snack she so conveniently carries with her at all times. Whether you're walking to class together, hiking on the weekend, or simply going to Wal-Mart on an empty stomach, snacks are never far away when your with your mom friend. And it doesn't just stop at food. Also forgot bug spray on that hiking trip? No worries, we make sure to always carry extra lest we feel the wrath of our itchy friends the next day. Thirsty? We got you covered. Sunscreen? Please! We never leave the apartment without some. Whatever you need, your mom friend's got it and then some.

2. We make sure you'll have a long life to live after college.

We as mom friends like to make sure you'll make it through college in one piece, relatively speaking. We monitor your questionable life choices and intervene when necessary. We bug you every thirty minutes to do your homework. We remind you to eat something green every now and then and to change your shirt if its been one to many days. But we do it all in the name of love because no one loves you like your mom friend loves you.

3. There is no better shoulder to lean on than your mom friends shoulder.

When that perfect guy turns out to be just like the rest, or you've just had a really long day, your mom friend will be there with a listening ear and a blanket to snuggle. We'll throw on your favorite Netflix series and binge watch all of your worries away.

4. We are your biggest fan/life counselor all rolled into one.

No one gets more excited about your life achievements than us, even if it's going to class when you'd rather be sleeping. We celebrate the small victories just as much as the big, and when you don't know what to do or which way to go, we are there with a myriad of life advice to help you through. We want you to be successful and happy just as much as you want it yourself.

5. And nothing makes us happier than seeing you happy.

Your happiness is our top priority and we wouldn't want it any other way. We love our friends to the moon and back and would do anything to see them happy. We're always looking out for you to make sure no one dulls your rainbow.

As mom friends we do a lot. We guide, we push, we provide snacks, but there's not a day that goes by that I would want to be anything else. Being the mom friend is as much a part of me as anything. Take some time to thank your mom friend for all that they do because without them you'd probably be wandering around lost and hungry. From one mom friend to another, thanks for all you do.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
