The leaves are changing colors, the weather is cooling down, and Halloween has finally come to an end. Welcome, November! We have only two more months until we say goodbye to 2017 and helllooo to 2018 (which is INSANE). But, these last two months are probably the most action-packed months of the year! I would hate for anyone to miss out on the essential festivities of the official holiday months, so here are five things you need to do before the year comes to a close.
- #RedCup
- Stock up on your fuzzy socks.
- Thanksgiving dinner
- Decorations
- Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas
1. #RedCup
As basic as it sounds, we all know that the winter-esque, seasonal Starbucks drinks are THE best. With the holiday season just around the corner, Starbucks has released its favorite holiday drinks. These seasonal drinks come in their iconic red cups, and they’re basically our early Christmas presents.
2. Stock up on your fuzzy socks.
No one likes cold feet; especially when the weather outside is blistering and cold. Make sure to keep warm with some of the cutest and comfiest socks! I personally like to get mine from Target (and then never take them off).
3. Thanksgiving Dinner
Is this even necessary to put on here? Probably not, but just as a reminder that Thanksgiving dinners are probably one of the most iconic of the year. Whether you’re sticking to the traditional turkey and mashed potatoes, or adding some cultural flavors to the night (for my family: Korean barbeque everrryyy year), or maybe even skipping cooking altogether and going out for a nice dinner at a family-fav restaurant, Thanksgiving is bound to be full of great food and great company.
4. Decorations
I personally think that one of the best things about the holidays are the decorations! People get so creative with how they decorate their Thanksgiving dinner table, their Christmas trees, or even their entire houses! From small dorm rooms to big houses, decorations make the entire holiday atmosphere even warmer. Make sure to grab your Christmas lights, your wreaths, and maybe even a tree to make the most out of the holiday season.
5. Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas
Every day of December leading up the Christmas Day, Freeform - previously known as ABC Family - sets the mood by constantly streaming Christmas-themed movies and shows. From the old classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer "to the modern (arguably) classic "Elf," you can fill your heart with the Christmas spirit as much as you want (all the while ignoring the impending doom of finals, of course).
