Winter is finally here, and it’s terrible.

If you’re like me you may have found yourself seriously wondering if there’s a tauntaun wandering around that you could use to warm up, Skywalker-style.

Fortunately for me, I do not live on the ice-planet Hoth, as much as it sometimes feels like it. But unfortunately for me, it’s still really, REALLY cold.

So, here are five ways I’ve been coping with the cold, hopefully they’ll help you too.

1. Light all your finals study guides, assignments and papers on fire and huddle near it for warmth.

You don’t need them anymore anyway and haven’t they caused you enough pain?

2. Do lunges instead of walking.

The increased energy expense will heat your body up and your quads will look fantastic.

3. Imagine you are wearing Lenny Kravitz’s infamous giant scarf.

You will feel fabulous and warm.

4. Speaking of scarves, Instead of the blanket-scarf trend, try using a literal blanket as a scarf.

If anyone asks you about it, just say “thanks, I got it at Zara”. You will look and sound so hip.

And finally,

5. Think about how this year, in 2016, we had a record number of women elected to the US Senate, more dialogue than ever about climate change, racial and gender equality, AND thanks to this year, Giant Pandas are no longer considered extinct and the world has been graced with new musical stylings by Lin Manuel-Miranda.

it probably won’t help you with your physical warmth, but it will warm your heart.

Stay toasty, my friends.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
