1. Denial
Everyone knows the first step in coming to terms with the imminent end of break is to deny it completely. There's no way you only have a week left. The calendar must be wrong. Wasn't it Christmas like ten minutes ago? Denial is a natural step in this process; continue living in your fantasy world for few more days as the spring semester draws ever closer.2. Anger
You can't believe it. You have literally wasted your entire break on Netflix and Tumblr. All of those things you want to do while you had free time? Still not done. It's ok to be angry. Maybe try to make up for lost time by hanging out with some friends from home!3. Bargaining
We're getting into crunch time now, and you've entered the third stage: bargaining. All you need is a couple more days. You really don't want to make the drive back to your school just yet. Maybe there will be a sudden blizzard and they'll have to push back classes a couple of days? Or a flash flood? Alien invasion? Something, anything! 4. Depression
The end of break looms overheard, and you feel awful. All you want to do is lay around the house and finish off the last of the leftovers. You think of all the things you hate about school and drown your sorrows in some junk food. (Goodbye New Years resolution, hello Oreos.) Just try not to think of the amount of money you'll spend on books this semester; you don't want to send yourself over the edge. 5. Acceptance

Starting school again isn't the end of the world, and you recognize that now. It's a clean slate! Organize your binders, stock back up on school supplies. Make plans to go out with your friends. Maybe decide to get involved with a new club or organization. New year, new you, right? If you go into the new semester with an optimistic attitude, it'll make things that much easier. So keep your chin up, and think of all the possibilities that spring holds!
