5 Keys To Success That Will Change Your Life
F. Emelia Sam/Huffington Post

Many people have dreams to do big things. Some dream to become engineers. Others dream to be rock stars. Many have dreams just to be successful in what they do. These five secrets to success will change your life.

1. Law of Attraction: What You Put Out Will Come Back to You; Like Attracts Like.

Simply, what you put out or give will come back to you in some way, shape, or form. For example, if you are striving for excellence and you put everything you've got into something, such as working as hard as you can on a sports team, that will result in you being one of the stronger team members leading to more wins on the team. The same principle applies to your thought process, money, love and just about anything you can think of. If you have a positive mindset, you're going to get positivity back. If you give out money to a charity or give a homeless person on the side of the street a couple dollars, the money will come back to you in some way.

2. Don't Try to Saw Sawdust: Stop Worrying About Small Things.

When you worry about the small things in life, you get stressed out over nothing. For example, a common thing people worry about is relationships. When you saw sawdust in this case, you are trying to make a breakup worse than it seems. If you break up with a significant other, it simply means you two were not meant for each other and you should move on. If you're at work and have a small task such as paperwork, don't get stressed out because you're getting all worked up over some papers.

3. When Things Go Wrong as They Sometimes Will, Think to Yourself "I don't Know How but This Will Benefit Me in the Long Run.

Sometimes, things do not go as planned, it's how life works. However, it's how you react to it that makes you benefit. For example, when you're on a date and the waiter accidentally spills your drink on you. Something went wrong. Look for the benefit. It may not seem like a benefit at the moment but in the future, there is a benefit. When you're significant other is upset, you can use the story as a funny memory to cheer them up.

4. Write Down Affirmations: Goals Written Down as if They Have Already Happened.

Take your goals and write them down in the past or present tense. For example if you want to your family to be happy, healthy, and wealthy, write down "I'm so happy and grateful my family is happy, healthy, and wealthy because happiness, health, and wealth comes quickly and easily to us." If you want to get a job you applied for, write "I'm so happy and grateful that I got the job I love because I'm a hard worker and I have exceeded the qualifications for it." By adding the because, it gives you a reason why you can get it. It may not work immediately or the first time but it does work.

5. Goal Setting: Know How to Properly Set, Manage, and Achieve Goal.

Being able to properly set and manage goals is one of the main keys to success. The proper way to set a goal is to set a S.M.A.R.T. Goal. The Acronym S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound. It takes the goal and instead of making it seem like a dream, it gives you a plan of attack to achieve your dream. Breaking everything down,

Specific: Make sure your goal is specific. If you just want a job, that's too vague and broad. There are millions of options. If you want to become an audio technician, that's a specific job.

Measureable: How long is it going to take to achieve your goal? Create a timeline for your goal. Becoming an audio technician, you have to go to school for it and you need internship. Your timeline should include school, internships, and side jobs in the industry.

Achievable: Is your goal achievable? Is it too far out of the way to reach it? In this case the goal is achievable.

Realistic: Is your goal realistic or is it just imagination? In this case, the goal of becoming an audio technician is realistic.

Timebound: How long will it take to achieve your goal? In this case including school, it'll be a five-year goal assuming you have connections in the industry and are going to a four-year college.

Your goal using the S.M.A.R.T. tactic will look like this: "I am going to become an audio technician. I will attend a four year college and do a year of internships as well as side jobs. My goal is achievable and realistic. The goal will take me about 5 years to complete."

Now that you know these five keys to success, you can now change your life around!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
