Yellow: the color of sunshine, happiness, and bananas, what's not to love? This glowing color never fails to stand out among the others, displaying it's warmth throughout the world. Despite all of it's fantastic features, it seems to be one of the least commonly liked colors. In order to change your perspective on this bright hue, here are five reasons why yellow should be your new favorite color.

1. It's associated with happiness and warmth.

When envisioning the color yellow, what comes to mind never fails to give positive vibes. From warm fireplaces to the petals of a sunflower, the color yellow will instantly put you in a good mood.

2. It's easily seen at a distance.

The color yellow is proven to be one of the colors who stand out the most at a distance. For this reason, yellow is used for many practical reasons such as stoplights, signs, and vehicles. If you are looking for a color to provide you with extra services besides looking pretty, I would recommend yellow.

3. Coldplay

Coldplay wrote an entire song on the color yellow, is anything else even necessary?

4. Food

Yellow is home to some of the best foods around. Bananas, lemons, cheese, mangos, the list can go on and on. Unlike with some other colors, every food that has the color yellow on it is guaranteed to be delicious (trust me on this one.)

5. It encourages communication and activates memory

Not only is yellow beneficial to us on a physical level, but also psychologically. The color yellow is proven to encourage communication among people and help activate memory. Yellow is a color that can help you remember things while helping you make new friends. How could you not say it's your favorite color?

Yellow is a beautiful, bright color filled with life, one which deserves more recognition. After reading this article why not try eating some mac and cheese, or drink some lemonade? Maybe then you can reminisce on the importance of yellow and its endless benefits.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
