It is undeniable fact that dogs are the best animals out there. I have yet to understand how anyone can be a cat person over being a dog person. I have had a dog for most of my life, and I could not imagine my life without one. Here are five words that explain why I think dogs are so great.

1. Unconditional Love

Your dog will love you unconditionally from the very day you meet. A dog's love is so pure, and they always seem to put you before themselves. Nothing is better than cuddles with your dog at the end of a hard day, and don't even get me started on puppy kisses.

2. Playfulness

Dogs are so playful! It doesn't get much better than having a playful pet.

3. Their Excitement

These four-legged friends simply cannot contain their excitement, and they always seem to be excited about something. Food? Excited. Toys? Excited. Cuddles? Excited.

4. Funny

Dogs can be so majestic and beautiful, but other times they can be completely hilarious.

5. Cute

Last but not least, dogs are cute. It is plain and simple, but dogs will never fail to make me smile.

Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
