Five Reasons Spider-Man Is the Greatest Superhero Ever

We all have gotten into heated debates about which one of our favorite superhero's would fare against another hero.

Batman. Superman. Iron Man. Deadpool. Great characters all. But no superhero in all comic book history is as great as Spider-Man. Why is Spider-Man the best character? I'll give you five reasons to prove that he is.

He's Relatable

Batman and Iron Man are billionaires, Superman is an alien, Thor is a god, Hulk is a monster with incredible strength , and so on and so on. But Spider-man is an average college kid/teenager who had great responsibility fall into his lap and rose to the ocassion. Like most of us, he wasn’t destined for greatness from birth — he was faced with the opportunity to pursue greatness, something we all, deep down, believe we would do in his situation. And he has to deal with all this while trying to face down his insecurities and anxiety. With a few exceptions, that’s something we hardly ever see in comics, and even then, most of those exceptions are much older than the reader. Spider-Man got his powers at around the same age as most of the people reading his comics, and still has to face real life drama like the average person in society. No one else can compare to that in the comics.

He Has A Sense Of Humor

Superman, Batman and Wolverine heck are all dead serious one hundred percent of the time. Among the most popular superheroes, only The Flash, Iron-Man and Spider-Man are funny. Deadpool is very hysterical, but Spider-Man’s humor comes from his natural love of being silly. Even in battle with one of his arch nemesis Spidey cracks jokes and taunts them. Spider-Man is the only one of these guys who makes puns. And that makes him so much easier to like and root for, because even when his life is in danger, he finds the humor.

He's Powerful, But Not To Strong

What’s the biggest problem with Superman and The Hulk? Their too powerful. Superman has all the powers known to man. I read one comic book where Superman could read minds for a short period of time. This guy even flew Earth across the universe one time. Really, who writes his stories... Michael Bay? If his opponent doesn’t have Kryptonite, Superman would win majority of the time. It makes it difficult to put him in stories with real, human villains, because all of them would be considered ants to Superman. Spider-Man, on the other hand, has great strength, but not so much strength he could punch holes through reality. He can face regular or super powered bad guys. Every battle he's in there's alway's good suspense whether or not Spider-man may

He's Vulnerable

I’m talking emotionally vulnerable here. Spider-Man’s ability to overcome them is why he stands out from most heroes. Where Iron Man is usually a drunken mess and Superman goes into an emotional shell. Spider-Man has the perfect balance of vulnerability and strength. His struggles are relatable (blown up to heroic proportions, but still), and he faces them down with real courage. There is no better sign of a great character than that in my opinion.

Ladies Love Him

Did I mention Spider-man arguably has the hottest girlfriends. Mary Jane. Black Cat. Gwen Stacey. Silver Sable. The list goes on and on. He's actually has the record for most girlfriends in comic book history. Ladies love Spider-man because he has everything they look for in a man. He has the looks, humor, style, and class. They don't want a man saving the world in his underwear (Superman) or a billionaire with some serious issues (Batman).

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
