Five Reasons Why The Sims Is One Of The Most Successful PC Games Ever

So, I just started recently playing The Sims again. Let me tell you, to go from playing The Sims 1 to playing The Sims 3 & 4, is a completely different level. I'm sure we all remember The Sims 1. It's basic graphics, the fire was always killer, and the grim reaper was a guy in a cloak that was pretty much dead, that I guess was the grim reaper but he didn't have his handy-dandy scythe, but was featured in Sims 2 and later forgotten in Sims 3 and Sims 4.

But, while being one of the most successful PC games ever, they've had to do it somehow. These are the five reasons (and trust me, this list could be longer) why I believe the Sims franchise is one of the most successful ever.

1. The Sims 3: Pets

Now, this is one of the main expansion packs that you see for every Sims. I am waiting for them to release The Sims 4: Pets but, there are talks of this happening. However, this takes a lot of work. My favorite pets out of sims one, two and three is sims three. I love how funny the cats are. They always run around and they play on the carpet to roll around and everything. The only thing I hate is that when you have a puppy, they can't get the toys out of the toy boxes so they literally chew your furniture to death (it's happened to me). The Sims 3: Pets also features horses, which I absolutely love. The current family I am working on has a kitten and a horse. It's wonderful.

2. The Sims 4: Vampires

I have to say, out of all the sims' expansion packs. I have to admit, The Sims 4: Vampires is one of my favorites. The Vampires burn and die in the sun, almost right away. They can have different supernatural abilities. In The Sims 3, they didn't have that. They could do a few different things, but every vampire had the same powers. You can change into a bat as one of the powers (I obviously have that power) and you can go into houses that are locked.

3. The Sims 3: Seasons

I chose The Sims 3 for this one because I never played the Sims 2 with it. In the Sims 3: Seasons, there are days where it can be a million degrees (I've seen this, I'm not kidding) and sometimes it can get that cold too (I'm not too sure about this, but I can almost guarantee it). Another awesome thing with Seasons is that, when it's winter and it snows, your children can have snow days. There's also Christmas and such. It's really awesome. The Sims 4 has yet to release a seasons pack but there are spoilers of there maybe being one.

4. The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection

This made everyone go crazy. When EA released it for free, it flew. Everyone was like, "The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection is for free! You gotta get it!" It's hard to get through EA anymore but, you can buy it off of Amazon or Ebay. This collection is literally as it sounds, it features all of The Sims 2 expansion and stuff packs. It's literally a dream to own.

5. The Sims 3: University Life

So, in this expansion pack, you can take your sims to college. They can have college parties, have tons of homework, they even graduate with their diploma. I've seen a lot of people want this for TS4 too, so, maybe EA will give it to us. The homework load in university life is exhausting (just like college) so be prepared to work, work, work.

While The Sims franchise has other amazing aspects to it, these are the best I can come up with. I want to also mention the open world. While TS3 has open world, TS4 does not. You gotta be creative in TS4 and see what you can come up with to be able to subside the boredom that sometimes follows. While I play both of them, I will forever love TS3, only because EA is still making TS4 be as incredible as 3 was. Try it, I'm sure you'll figure out fun ways to kill your sims.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
