Five Reasons Racism Makes ZERO Sense

You really do look and sound like an idiot when you are racist. That's a fact.

The year is 2016 in America, and still we fight racism and violence as if it were the 50's and 60's all over again. Why? Take a look below and you'll find five reasons why racism is simply as ignorant as a human being can get. (Five out of millions I might add)

One.

Diversity is absolutely what makes America so great! Some of the finest Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen I have ever served with were all from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. All of our elite athletes in many sports come from a diverse racial variance. Team USA just wiped the floor with the other countries in these past Olympic Summer Games in Rio... Look it up... All of our athletes that represented the USA were different races. Take pride in America's ethnic diversity.

Two.

Most genetic differences are actually found within members of the same race rather than members of a different race altogether. Yeah, that's right. Two Caucasian men are more likely to be genetically opposite than one Caucasian man compared to one Asian man. Point your finger... Look stupid... You probably have more in common with the guy or gal you're being discriminant towards than you realize!

Three.

The pigment of your skin is absolutely, 100%, beyond any reasonable doubt, IRRELEVANT. Aside from a darker complexion enhancing the body's ability to protect against ultraviolet rays, how light or dark a person's skin is, is not important at all. There are indeed thousands of racial stereotypes that float around today. Some of these racial stereotypes even tend to be more accurate than not. However, that is literally all that they are... stereotypes. Name any racial common occurrence and I guarantee you there are people that defy it ten-fold. Eminem is a Caucasian American rap artist, Barack Obama is an African American President of the United States, Ephraim Salaam is a Muslim American offensive lineman in the NFL, and Henry Cho is an Asian American comedian. These are just a few of thousands who prove your melatonin based judgements are seriously ridiculous.

Four.

Race as an attribute is more modern than you think. Greeks, Jews, Muslims, Romans, etc. are all people who have been classified by their religious beliefs, wealth, language, and social status dating back to the ancient medieval era. Don't get me wrong, classifying people that way is entirely a whole other issue that needs to be discussed at a later date. However, who's bright idea was it to start hating other people because their skin was a different color? Get real man. If there were Romans walking around conquering entire continents and not factoring skin color into anything, then we can certainly go about our own daily lives and stop factoring skin color into who we like and don't like...

Five.

Racial discrimination is something that happens to all races. This common theory that it only happens to one specific race is just plain preposterous. If you don't believe me, research a little farther than your Facebook/ Twitter 'News Feeds'. There was a Caucasian woman who attempted to join a Black Lives Matter protest in Baltimore where she was made to leave or stay in the back purely because of her skin color. There was an Asian man who was beat to death on account of him being a police officer and only for that reason. These are again just two of thousands of examples of racism against other ethnicities. Racism needs to be eradicated altogether! We absolutely can not just focus on one race... that is racism!

Conclusion.

Stop being idiots. End this ridiculous hatred for another man or woman's skin color. There is absolutely no justified reason to hate another human being because of the pigment of their skin. We are all created equally, no matter who you believe created us or how, we are all equal. United we will stand and destroy racism once and for all. Divided we will fall and continue to house ignorant hatred for racial diversity.

Even Shonda Rhimes, winning creator and executive producer of the hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Catch agrees that relationships with fictional characters are real. In her book, The Year of Yes she states, "I have spent more time with Meredith and Christina then many of my actual friends...When you watched TV, even spending a full hour with Christina once a week, you were likely spending more time with her then you spent with most people in your life. That relationship was real."

Going to the gym and working out on a daily basis (with breaks once in awhile) has been a great way for me to feel good about myself. It is 100% more than just looking good. Especially after starting college and having the stress and anxiety of tests, assignments, and just figuring out my future, the gym at my school has definitely been a place of relief for me and I have numerous reasons of why everyone should push themselves to get to the gym when they can.

Oh college, lovely, lovely college. A four-year time span that is filled with many highs and many lows. Between procrastinating on an essay that is due at midnight to getting your first library card (if you know what I mean), college is a time that you should not take for granted, yet it is also a time where you feel like your entire world is falling apart. It is a time where one day you can feel like you are on top of the world and then the next day you are 500 feet below the ground surface.
