The heat of the summer may be here, but fall is right around the corner. I can't help but fantasize about cooler weather and everything that comes with the changing of the seasons. Autumn is by far my favorite time of year, so here are five reasons I'm excited for it.
1. Changing of the Leaves
One of my favorite things about fall is the foliage. There's nothing quite like taking an evening drive around town to appreciate the beautiful array of oranges, yellows and reds. Then, when the leaves decide to migrate to the ground, nothing can beat the sound of crunching leaves. Definitely one of my favorite things about fall!
2. Sweater Weather
Don't get me wrong, I love the warm summer temperatures, but there's nothing quite like being able to walk outside in a sweater and feel the brisk autumn breeze. It's warm enough that you don't need to bundle up, but it's chilly enough to need a nice warm beverage to accompany you while you walk around admiring the fall leaves. It can't get much better than that!
3. Apple Orchards & Corn Mazes
One of my favorite fall past-times is going to the apple orchard and getting lost in the corn maze with my best buds. It's a great bonding experience and everyone's true colors come out, which makes it extra interesting. After completing it (or just giving up), what's a better way to reward yourself and relax than with a cup of fresh apple cider or an apple cider doughnut? Nothing. There's nothing better.
4. Haunted Houses
I'll be the first to admit I am that person who screams like a little girl when scared, but that doesn't make haunted houses around Halloween any less fun! Being terrified is part of the thrill. Acting scared makes it even more fun because the characters will target you to get a reaction. Who doesn't love a good chainsaw chasing after them?
5. Pumpkin EVERYTHING
Yes, I'm that typical girl that loves everything I can consume to be pumpkin flavored. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pie, and don't forget about pumpkin ice cream! Pumpkin just makes everything better. It's a big staple of the fall season.
