The ultimate question: "Are you a cat person or a dog person?" While I love both, my soul really lays with my feline friends. There's something about cats that makes my world go 'round, and I am sure so many of you can relate. Here are five reasons I reply with "most definitely cat," when asked if I am a cat person or a dog person:
1. They head butt.
For whatever reason, a cat's signature move is to head butt humans. (OK... It is actually a natural behavior of our feline friends as a result of scent glands being all over their body.) BUT, I like to think of it as a big "I love you."
2. They really don't need much to be happy — an empty box will do.
Let's be honest... it takes a lot of hard work to please other pets. Heck, it takes a lot of work to please people! But cats? You can go out, buy a new pair of shoes then give them the empty box and they'll be happy as can be.
3. The laws of physics are non-existent in cat world.
Somehow, cats always land on their feet and can fit in basically any space, no matter how small. I am not a fan of science, so naturally the fact that cats bend the laws of physics makes my world a happier place.
4. They sleep 2/3 of their lives.
Goals, right? I mean, think about it. By the time a cat is nine years old, it has only been awake for 3 years. That is some SERIOUS napping. These sleeping habits also pretty much guarantee that cats are always down for Netflix 'n Chill with their human.
5. They intentionally ignore you.
As much as I love attention from my cat, it is oddly refreshing when I call her name and she turns the other way. I am a sassy being and it only makes sense to have a pet that is equally as sassy.
