Saving our oceans can seem like an unreachable problem and one that we do not often know how to contribute to. This list of five pledges to take in five minutes makes it easy to make a difference immediately.

Each of these movements is filled with people who have made saving the ocean and its marine life their mission and supporting them in their efforts can go a very long way. All you need to do is click on each link and decide whether or not you would like to add your name to a cause that is working to save the ocean either through political policies, awareness, or cleanup methods. I hope you find each movement as inspiring as I did and will take a few minutes to make a difference.

1. Join the #stopsucking Movement

Single-use plastic items are the greatest contributor to our ocean's marine waste today. Make the commitment to #stopsucking and help keep our oceans and our marine life safe. Let your congressmen and women hear your voice when you use the following link to join Oceana in Telling Congress to Ban the Trade of Shark Fins in the US.

Tell your member of Congress to defend whales, dolphins and other marine mammals when you use the following link to join Oceana in Telling Congress to reject all proposed changes to the MMPA.

4. Greenpeace's End Corporation's Plastic Pollution Movement

Use the following link to join Greenpeace by adding your name to a letter Demanding big corporations do their part to end plastic pollution!

5. Clean Seas' Turn the Tide on Plastic Movement

Help Clean Seas in their fight to keep plastic out of our oceans by Signing the Pledge to Fight for Clean Seas.
