A couple of anticipated TV shows will be coming into our living rooms in this new year. New shows mean new stories that we can all obsess with. But TV shows are not forever and that's when reality hits us; TV shows come and go.
In 2015, we had to say goodbye to some of our favorite shows, for some it was their time but for others it was just too soon! Here are five stories that ended in 2015.
1. “Parks And Recreation”
The audience watched as Leslie Knope and the rest of the parks department of Pawnee, Indiana try to beautify their city. In May of 2014, NBC announced that this funny show would be drawing to a close with its seventh season. This was surprising for the loyal fans of the show which received nominations at the Golden Globes and Emmys. But the low ratings of the show were a big part of NBC’s decision not to renew it.
2. “The Following”
The first season of this show aired back in 2013 and it had us on the edge of our seats. The story follows agent Ryan Hardy as he tries to find Joe Carrol, a serial killer who is communicating with other active serial killers and forms a cult. This thriller gathered a big audience in its first season but it soon decreased making FOX cancel it after its third season.
3. “Glee”
A group of high school misfits joined the high school’s unpopular glee club. The musical series revolved the members of the glee club going through social issues as well as trying to make it to nationals. The first couple of season were a success not only winning Emmys and Golden Globes but also topping the charts with songs that the cast would cover in episodes. After the death of its most popular cast member in 2013, Corey Monteith, the show’s rating were low making the sixth season its final. "Glee" ended in March of 2015.
4. “Parenthood”
The show revolves around three generations of the Braverman family, each family has its own challenges to deal with, but they still manage to be there for each other. NBC announced that the family drama would have its sixth and final season in the spring of 2015.
5. “Mad Men”
Set at one of the most prestigious ad agencies in the 1960s, "Mad Men" focuses on one of the firm's most mysterious and talented ad executives, Donald Draper. This period drama also focuses on the business and the personal lives of the characters. The show won Emmys and Golden Globe awards. Its final seventh season was split in two 7-episode airings, the first part aired in the Spring of 2014, and the second aired a year later, in the spring of 2015.
