There are so many things to love about Houston, but one of my absolute favorite is the variety of art walls throughout the city. To me, there is nothing cooler than spending a day trying to find the different walls and then taking pictures at each of them. In fact, my friends and I do that pretty often. So here is a list of my favorite art walls in Houston:
Sugar and Cloth Paint wall
This wall was without a doubt my favorite to visit. It was located on Canal Street in downtown Houston and always guaranteed a super cool backdrop for any kind of photo. Unfortunately, this wall has since been removed, leaving a color block wall sized hole in my heart.
Vintage 90’s cartoon wall
This wall is very easy to miss or just walk by if you’re not paying attention. It’s located in Montrose, along Westheimer, but it’s just well enough tucked away to be hard to see. It’s around the corner from lo-fi vintage shop and showcases a variety of everyone’s favorite 90’s cartoon characters. And of course, it makes the perfect backdrop for photos.
You are my sunshine
This wall is on the side of a store that is also a little harder to spot. However, it is located in the heart of the heights and is for sure a cute photo opportunity. Not every wall has a street associated with it, but this one is located on Rutland Street.
Crazy wall
I’m not even sure if this wall has an official name. It is also located around the corner from lo-fi in Montrose along Westheimer and it showcases fun and colorful motifs all around.
Not weird
A new favorite spot of mine for photos is this handy little mural. It is a little smaller than the rest of the murals, but it’s perfectly sized for you to stand in front of it and show off just how you’re limited edition. It’s also in Montrose, along Westheimer, and is actually on the wall opposite the crazy wall mentioned previously.
