Five More Artists That Deserve Their Stories To Be On The Big Screen

Thanks, Elton and Freddie! Here are more artists that deserve the same recognition in the theater.

Five More Artists That Deserve Their Stories To Be On The Big Screen

Over the past couple of years, biopics such as Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman have graced the screen, giving us a look into the lives of rock-band Queen and the revolutionary Elton John, respectively. These films have introduced us to the side of our favorite musicians that is typically hidden from the public eye. We see their childhood, rise to fame, struggles, redemption, and everything in between. Of course, the music is AMAZING as well.

More stories are being brought to the box office, including a Whitney Houston biopic titled I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Personally, I think these films are captivating and would love to see this industry grow. With that being said, here are five more artists whose stories I want to see in the movie theater!

Fleetwood Mac

I would specifically want it to be about the making of their best-selling album, Rumours. Written among scandal, affairs, alcohol and drug abuse within the band, Rumours never tries to sugarcoat the severity of Fleetwood Mac's unique situation. Obviously, the music would KILL in this film adaption. I would title it "Go Your Own Way".

Read about the drama here.

Dixie Chicks

These ladies have been through quite the journey as the best-selling female country group of all-time. Upon gaining lead-singer powerhouse Natalie Maines in 1995, they dominated the charts from the late '90s through early '00s. They lost a lot of respects after making comments in 2003 regarding the war in Iraq, as well as popularity. The women handled the controversy and all three went through rough divorces, but also have their first album in 14 years coming out in July! This film could be great if done correctly! I'd call it "Long Time Gone".

James Taylor

Rolling Stone describes James Taylor's life simply: "addiction, absent fathers and survival". Three marriages (including to pop-artist Carly Simon) and a heroin addition makes for an interesting story, and is one that not too many young adults today know. Also, I'm pretty sure it would be called "Fire and Rain".

Aerosmith

Like Fleetwood Mac, a biopic for this classic-rock band is long overdue. They have been a household name since the '70s and have have quite the career. I was raised on all their hits and would love to see them on the big screen! A possible title for their biopic could be "Walk This Way".

Taylor Swift

Okay, yes, I know this one is controversial. But think about the life she's had! A breakout country singer (who wins CMA Entertainer of The Year as a HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR) who makes the switch to pop. Her relationships, her influence, the drama with Scooter Braun, and so much more. I would watch this film in a heartbeat and title it "Begin Again".

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
