The year 2016 has been a crazy in the world of sports. From some of the biggest upsets to some of the most unbelievable comebacks, all sports saw some of the most unimaginable events.
1. Peyton Manning's Final Goodbye
Peyton Manning, one of NFL's greatest quarterbacks, finally announced his retirement after winning Super Bowl 50 on March seventh of 2016. He left the game as NFL's all time passing yards leader, having won NFL's MVP award five times.
2. Kobe Bryant's Final Goodbye
Kobe Bryant said his farewell to the NBA after 19 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, leaving a big impression upon young NBA stars as an inspiration. He left the game as one of the greatest players, winning the NBA title five times with Los Angeles.
3. Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs had not won the World Series since 1908, but that was not until Cleveland went 3-1 up in the 2016 World Series by winning game four 7-2. The Cubs went on to win the next two games forcing a tie breaking game seven. This went down as one of the wildest games in MLB history with the Cubs managing to hold on to win 8-7 after ten innings and ending their 108 year title drought.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
Lebron James returned home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he led the team to their second straight NBA finals. They faced the Golden State Warriors, who beat them to the title last year and were the best team in the NBA this year. The Warriors seemed too hot to handle winning game four in Cleveland and taking a 3-1 series lead. Then Lebron James orchestrated one of the greatest comebacks in NBA finals history winning game five in California, game six in Cleveland, and the tie breaking game seven in California.
5. Leicester City
Leicester City came into the season at 5000-1 odds of winning the title and were favorites to drop down to the second division. With a lot of teamwork and a bit of magic, Leicester City managed to pull off one of the greatest shocks in Premier League history, winning their first ever title and a season to remember for all Premier League fans.
