As the year comes to a close, people begin to make the typical New Years resolutions, eating healthier, exercising, etc. If you were planning on making yourself a healthier person for your New Years resolution, why wait? There are some very easy healthy habits that you can start right now!
Drink a lot of water
Drinking water helps you stay hydrated, keeps your belly full, and flushes out toxins in your body. Drink up!
Move your body
You don't have to jump into the #FitLife right away, but it is a good idea to start exercising regularly. Break a sweat a couple days a week doing something you find fun. Go for a walk, take a yoga class, or join a gym to exercise there.
Get a good amount of sleep at night
Most adults, especially college students, struggle with getting the recommended eight hours of sleep per night. Try going to bed and shutting off your distracting electronic devices earlier at night to be sure to get those eight hours in!
Strive for five
Strive to get in five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. They are naturally less calorie-dense than other foods so it will be an easy way lose some extra weight if that is what you're looking for. Don't forget about all the vitamins and minerals they provide, too. There are great health benefits from eating plant-based foods.
Set goals for yourself
It is always nice to have goals set so you know what you are looking to achieve, by when, and how you are going to do it. Write these things down and remind yourself of them every day so you remember what you're working towards, and maintain all of that motivation you had in the beginning of your journey. Always remember that you can't compare your chapter one to someone else's chapter 20!
