Five Fresh Face Masks From Lush

Over the last few months, I have become somewhat of a Lush addict. I have tried a whole variety of their products, but my favorite product of theirs is their fresh face mask. They come in many different kinds for different skin types, though I have only tried five of them. Since they are fresh, they must be kept refrigerated and they do come with an expiration date of about two weeks after they’re made. But, if you’re using them around three times a week, and you use them generously on your face, you won’t be wasting any product. A majority of them are around $7, and if you bring in back five empty Lush pots you can get one free! So, here is my review of the five fresh face masks I have tried.

1. Cosmetic Warrior.

This one is by far my favorite. It is meant for acne-prone skin and of all the masks I’ve tried so far, it definitely does its job the best. Some people are a little put off by the smell since it’s made with garlic and tea tree oil, but I have never thought it smelled strong. It comes on and off with water very well, and leaves my skin feeling clean yet not too dry or tight.

2. Catastrophe Cosmetic.

This mask is also helpful for taking care of blemishes and clearing up skin. It’s made with blueberries and has a nice scent to it. The application is nice and smooth at first, but I found that after a few uses it gets a little crumbly. Adding a little water to the pot fixes this right away. Additionally, I’ve found that after washing this off my face I feel a little powdery residue. It bothered me at first, but after patting my face dry it felt nice and matte and soft. However, my skin didn’t really feel as clean as I would have liked with this one.

3. Cupcake.

As far as smells go, this one is the best. It smells like delicious chocolate frosting, and who wouldn’t want to put that all over their face? This one as a little harder to apply since it was really thick. However, this mask is meant more for oily skin. I have skin with really dry patches, so using this mask made those areas of my skin sting really badly after a while. Still, if your skin isn’t as sensitive and you’re more prone to be oily, you should definitely check out this mask.

4. BB Seaweed.

This scrubby mask seems to be a perfect fit for most skin types. Don’t let the word seaweed throw you off, either. It has a delightful, lavender smell and it feels really good on the skin. It kind of looks like oatmeal, actually, and the application is really smooth. For those who don’t have many issues with their skin, this is a nice general mask that will cleanse, exfoliate, and soften very well.

5. Don’t Look At Me.

If you’re into smelling like a Fruit Loop and looking like a Smurf, this is the mask for you! Seriously. This scrubby mask is a light blue in color and smells faintly of cereal, but it’s great for brightening up your skin. The exfoliation in this mask feels a little more gritty than in BB Seaweed, but it’s still gentle enough to use on sensitive skin. For those who have tried Brazened Honey, the workers at Lush told me that Don’t Look At Me gives the same sort of effect, except it is better for sensitive skin than Brazened Honey. This is the mask I am currently using, and I definitely notice the differences in my skin. After just one use, it feels softer and definitely looks less dull than before. This one was a little more expensive, around $10, but I'm loving it so far.

I am definitely looking forward to trying more of Lush’s fresh face masks, and hope this review will encourage you to do so, too!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
