My favorite genre of book to read is Fantasy: basically swords, magic, monsters, and a world created entirely by the author. The genre itself is pretty vast but I have a pretty large list of book series, whether they are already completed or still in the works, that people who enjoy this genre should definitely look into. I'm going to just give y'all five of my personal favorite book series.

1. "Game of Thrones" - George R.R. Martin

With season six of the television series starting now and five books completed already this is definitely one to look into. The television series is also now completely caught up with the books. This means that if you're like me and have read the first five books and you're dying to know what happens next you better watch season six. The next book will be titled "The Winds of Winter" but still does not have a solid release date and might not be out until 2017. Still, the first five books are definitely worth the read.

2. "The Wheel of Time" - Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson

So, I'll be up front with you. If anyone decides to read this series, then they should know it is a serious commitment. With 14 books in this completed series ranging anywhere from about 670 to 1000 pages, it could easily take you a whole year to finish this series. Originally this series was written by Robert Jordan who sadly passed away before finishing it. Luckily for the fans, another author by the name of Brandon Sanderson with a similar writing style finished the series for the fans. This is my all time favorite book series and it is what made me want to be a writer.

3. "The Stormlight Archive" - Brandon Sanderson

This is a book series that, when completed, will be competing with "The Wheel of Time" for my favorite book series. There are currently only two books in this series but it is simply amazing. Brandon Sanderson, as I said previously, was the author who completed the "Wheel of Time" series and I didn't fully appreciate his writing style until I started these books. What is really amazing about Sanderson's writing, however, is that every series he writes is connected in the same universe. The books themselves may take place on different planets, but there are connections between them.

4. "The Mistborn Trilogy" - Brandon Sanderson

Brandon Sanderson is definitely prevalent in the book series that I like to read. "The Mistborn Trilogy" is a good book series to read if you want a new twist on the mystical powers in most fantasy novels. If you read the three books in this trilogy and enjoy them then there is a second trilogy set on the same planet 300 years in the future. However, a warning for this trilogy is that as I read each book there were some serious plot twists that left me amazed and stunned. There are some seriously unexpected occurrences within this trilogy.

5. "The Guadel Chronicles" - Dean Murray

This book series is one that I actually discovered because the first book was free on Kindle a couple of years ago. This series is definitely more of a young adult fantasy novel, so directed toward the ages of 13 to 18 or so, but it is still very well written. This series is definitely for people who like good old-fashioned magic and swords without any twists a to how the powers work. There are four full books in this series and a fifth book that is focused on a character other than the protagonist. These are the books you should probably read if you don't have the time to commit to the much longer book series.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
