Christmas time is a glorious time filled with hot chocolate, music, snow, presents, candles, and comfy clothing, but the best part is getting in the Christmas spirit with the hundreds of movies dedicated to the holiday. Here are five of my personal favorites to get you in the mood for the upcoming holidays!
1. "Elf"
This holiday classic featuring Will Ferrell playing Buddy will get you hyped for the holidays as you follow Buddy's adventures from the North Pole to NYC so he can find his real dad. Not only is this film humorous, but it also includes some cute, sappy scenes.
2. "The Polar Express"
It's not Christmas without cuddling up on the couch and watching this childhood favorite. The Polar Express will make you wish you could travel to watch Santa's sleigh take off while drinking a nice cup of hot coco and making new friends in the process.
3." Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer"
This Canadian-American animated film is a personal favorite from my childhood due to how cheesy it is. The story of Jake Spankenheimer and his year-long mission to find his beloved grandma who he claims was run over by a reindeer is a classic, not to mention the catchy Christmas song "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" plays throughout the movie.
4. "Frosty the Snowman"
Is it really Christmas if you didn't watch Frosty the Snowman? This cartoon movie from 1969 shows us everyone's favorite snowman Frosty and his various adventures throughout the winter. But watch out! Evil professor Hinkle might try to ruin the joy.
5. "Home Alone"
This classic trilogy is basically the face of Christmas in my eyes. Everyone who is anyone loves this film, and sometimes I wish I could accidently take a flight to NY and experience the adventures he encounters.
If I were to sit here and list every single Christmas movie you should watch this upcoming holiday season, we would be here for a while, but these 5 classics will make for an amazing movie marathon with your loved ones, so go get in the spirit!
