Being sad sucks. For me, the best way to get over my sad feelings is to watch movies. They often cheer me up and give me a better perspective on my sad life. Watching movies are the best way to get over a breakup, a death or even just a terrible day. So, here are 5 movies that are sure to turn your terrible day into a great day!

1. Bee Movie

Sure, this might not have been the first movie that you would expect me to put on the list. But I did. The Bee Movie is a great movie to watch when you are sad. The movie takes you into the animated world of bees. This world is colorful and overall a happy place to live in. Of course, the movie does take a sharp turn in the middle when the beekeepers are sued by the bees. But I can promise you that the end of the movie will put you in good spirits!

2. Arrival

If you are an alien freak, or just really like science fiction, then this is the perfect movie for you. Arrival follows a professor that has to try and communicate with an alien species that has landed on earth. Of course the other nations of the world begin to expect suspicious circumstances about the aliens and war is their answer. While this movie is very scientific-focused, it does make you have a better perspective on life. If you are having a rough day, and you want a little scientific fun, then this movie is for you.

3. Deadpool

This hilarious movie can put anyone in a good mood. Deadpool follows Ryan Reynolds' character as he takes on the persona of deadpool after a maniac does surgery on him to make him a superhuman. The movie, which came out in early 2016, got great reviews when it was in theaters. This movie can change anyone’s attitude after it is watched. The next time you need a good laugh then try Deadpool.

4. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Anchorman is one of the most iconic movies from the modern era. It is often quoted and very easily recognizable. Anchorman follows Ron Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell, as he battles Veronica Corningstone for the top position as anchorman. This movie is not only funny but also sends you back to the early 70’s as the anchormen are the staple of the era. This movie can make anyone’s day better.

5. The Pursuit of Happyness

This movie is a feel good movie that can put anyone in a better mood. The Pursuit of Happyness is an overall sad movie with a pretty happy ending. It's a must watch for anyone. It follows Chris Gardner and his son as Chris is set out to find a job to make his son's life better. Throughout the movie you might cry or even feel mad. Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
