Christmas is mainly recognized through Christmas Trees, presents and holiday movies. But there is one other thing that the holidays can be recognized through and that is books. Holiday books have been around just as long as holiday songs. They are great books for everyone during the holiday season. These are my top 5 Christmas books.

1. The Night Before Christmas

Since I was a young child, The Night Before Christmas has been read every Christmas Eve night at my house. The book is perfect for every age group and captures the essence of Christmas in a limited number of pages. The Night Before Christmas is a holiday classic that can be read by anyone. This is an older book that has been around since the early 1800’s and it has yet to lose popularity.

2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Before it was a popular holiday television special, How the Grinch Stole Christmas was a family book that was enjoyed by everyone. Dr. Seuss perfectly captures the feeling of a perfect Christmas through Whoville and the negativity of Christmas through the Grinch himself. This book can be enjoyed by everyone and is a perfect read for the children the night before Christmas. How the Grinch Stole Christmas can bring out the child in everyone.

3. A Christmas Carol

This is one of the most famous Christmas books in the world and has been made into multiple movies. Whether is was the Muppet version or Johnny Depp's version, chances are you have seen some adaptation of Charles Dickens' book, A Christmas Carol. While ghost aren’t often associated with Christmas, in A Christmas Carol Dickens brings them perfectly to life for the reader to get the feeling of Christmas. This book is the perfect holiday book for older readers as it is a chapter book. Charles Dickens created one of the most ultimate classic holiday books in A Christmas Carol.

4. The Polar Express

Odds are you have already seen this movie adaptation from the book. The Polar Express is one of the best holiday books. If trains and a magical journey interest you then The Polar Express is one of the best holiday books. This book should be enjoyed while sipping on hot cocoa while sitting next to the fire place. The Polar Express is a classic holiday book that can be enjoyed by just about anyone. The Polar Express is a must read for everyone.

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
