If you're a Disney fanatic or a princess or prince at heart, this article is for you! Disney has announced that they will be adding a private neighborhood just four-miles from the ever popular Magic Kingdom Park.
The new "Disney park suburb", Golden Oak, will be made up of four different neighborhoods containing approximately 290 homes. Each neighborhood varies from the other. For example, oe neighborhood is set to be a Tuscan-inspiried village with courtyards ranging from 3,000 - 5,000 square feet. A different neighborhood will be the Grand Estate homes. These homes are secluded from the rest and will have not only a desirable view, but will have almost double the square feet, ranging from 6,500 - 12,000.
Although the homes are a bit more expensive than a regular home, the location is definitely worth your money. Not only are you paying for the location, the homes are set to be custom built. This means you can build a Disney inspired home just outside of the most magical place on earth!
Building a home in this up and coming neighborhood definitely has its perks. Not only will residence receive Disney Park tickets, extended park hours, golf services, and exclusive events throughout the four parks. The neighborhood will be gated allowing access only to residents and keeping tourist away from the area.
Like many things in Disney, each home in the neighborhood will follow a similar theme to ensure that they all blend together, but allows the residents to also build them unique to their needs and wants.
Disney has also announced that they will be including a Four Seasons Resort to construction. The resort will be private from the standalone homes, but neighborhood residents will have access to the luxury hotel amenities. The resort has been designed with a pool, a dining room and bar, and a game room. The resort will be the center club house for the residents of this area.
Before you start entering your credit card information to start designing your magical dream home, you should know that along with the big price tag there is a large maintenance and club membership cost as well. Similar to a country club membership fee, each resident will pay for the up keep of the neighborhood, central club house, and parts of the parks.
As a college student, this currently isn't in my budget, but I'm not stopping anyone from fulfilling their dreams. Today I started saving for my dream Princess Home in Disney World, but until then, I'll just plan to come visit anyone who builds a new home here.
