My frist spring break during my college experience

In life, you will come across many questions that you just can not find the answer to. Such as, what is the meaning of life? Does a bear poop in the woods? If a tree falls down in the forest when nobody is around, does it make a sound? Why do nachos taste so much better at hockey games? What can I do to have the best spring break in college?

Spring break is the time in your college years that you spend doing whatever you can to get your mind off of the stress of classes, tests and homework. This was my first spring break of my college experience and I could not have had a better time at home.

Most importantly, I got to spend some quality time with my family. I miss them so much when I'm away at college and I cherish every minute I spend with them. I would trade anything in the world in order to have some time to spend with them.

I also got to see some of my closest friends from back home. I hadn't seen them in what felt like forever and it made me overly excited when I saw them. Along with seeing my friends, I also saw 2/3 of them at the musical that my high school had put on. They did an amazing job and I'm beyond glad I got to take a trip to see it.

I got to go to my very first hockey game with my dad and my brother. It was probably the most amazing experience of my life so far. Getting to see my favorite team play at home and win was the perfect experience for my first game. I also had some delicious nachos and I still have no answer to why they taste so much better at hockey games.

Also, as any responsible college student, I spent three days of my break working to make some extra cash. I won't say it was the highlight of my break, but it wasn't terrible either.

All in all, my first spring break in college was a success in my opinion. I honestly do not know what else I could have done to make it an even better experience. Just being able to come home and spend some quality time with my family and friends was a good enough break for me. I'm overly thankful for the opportunities I had that made my Spring break an even more fun and exciting time. It's going to be rough having to move back into college and leave my friends and family behind, but I know I'll be home again soon and I'll then be able to make more memories.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
