First Week Of School After (Winter) Break As Told By "Friends"

Oh syllabus week! Oh syllabus week! Our eyes are barely open!

First Week Of School After (Winter) Break As Told By "Friends"

The first week back from winter break (or any break) always stirs up many emotions, good and bad. Many of us are excited to get back into our routine (or at least try to), hang out with friends, and just get school over with. If you are anything like me, leaving home after break is always bittersweet because it means I leave my dogs, homemade food, and my niece and nephew (reasons may vary depending on the person). No matter how we feel about coming back to school there are some thoughts that go through all of our heads at least once during the first week back. Here are some of the feelings and reactions we encounter as we work our way through the first week of school, as told by "Friends."

Coming back to your apartment/dorm and seeing your roommates for the first time in weeks.

Realizing that it is the last day of break and your sleeping schedule needs more help than Miley Cyrus after her break up with Liam Hemsworth.

And to top things off you have an 8:00 a.m. scheduled sometime that week…

Looking forward to that “easy” class you enrolled in to boost your GPA but having no idea what the professor is talking about on the first day...

…and realizing your GPA might be doomed but trying not to panic.

Listening to your professor go on and on about how you need to read the syllabus.

Having to sit through a lecture when it’s supposed to be “syllabus week” because your professor thinks it is crucial to get through 30 chapters in 15 weeks (I’m looking at you science majors).

Trying to figure out what to eat at any given time of the day has become such a challenge and you are probably wishing you were back home eating your mom's food.

Being confused on why girls are walking around campus wearing the exact same t-shirts/sweatshirts.

And having to remind yourself that recruitment week just ended and that you are not just seeing double (or triple, or quadruple…).

Claiming a seat in class and hoping everyone realizes that from that day on that seat is your "unassigned assigned" seat but someone does not get the memo.

And the worst part of the whole week is how it took forever to end and it makes you think of how the semester will really be...

But do not forget to pat yourself on the back after the longest week of your life (so far) because you survived and hopefully did not sleep through any of your classes.

So, after a long week of trying to get your life together for the millionth time, lets take a moment to appreciate and be thankful for the long weekend. And if this is your last first week of school, take it all in and enjoy it because the real world is calling your name and you will soon be an actual grownup.

(P.S. Two months until Spring Break.)

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
