Coming back to school after a nice long summer is bittersweet. You get to see all of your friends that you missed over the summer, you completely get your independence and freedom back, and the college parties start up once again.
However, when that first week of classes begins, that satisfaction of being back in town is just a little less satisfying, and no one describes it better than Tina Belcher.
1. When you have to wake up for that first 8 a.m. and you regret every scheduling decision you have made up to this point.
2. When you walk into class and everyone is talking like they have known each other for years.
3. When your professor breaks the syllabus code of honor and tries to teach a lesson on the first day.
4. The heart-wrenching feeling you get after you realize how much money you are about to burn for books.
5. When you thought you were parked legally but you come back to a ticket.
6. When Friday hits and you can taste the freedom in the air.
7. The realization that it has only been two days and you have to do this for four more months.
In the end, the first week is always the worst. You will eventually get used to your schedule, and you will fall into the groove of attending classes, homework, and all of the responsibilities that fall in between. You will forget about the amount of money you had to shed out for books, and you will get accustomed to the terrible parking everywhere on campus. Everything will become normal and second nature too you, that is, until you have to redo it all again next semester.
