For many of us, last week was the first week back from break. Syllabi are handed out, you found your unassigned seat and, if you're lucky, you made at least one new friend.

The first week can really bite you!

1. Trying to keep your cool while getting lost trying to find your classroom.

2. Should I sit in the front and look like a good student, or sit in the back to avoid confrontation?

3. Why isn't anybody sitting next to me? Do I smell? Do I look mean?

4. *looking over the syllabus* This class shouldn't be too hard!

5. Huge project worth half your grade:

6. Textbooks are hundreds of dollars that you don't have...

7. "Attendance isn't mandatory"!!!!!

8. "Time for introductions"!!!!!

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
