First Week, Fashion Week.

NYFW? More like AVFW.

First Week, Fashion Week.

This week was the first week of school. Of course, the first day is a fashion show for everyone. However, I, the extra person I am, knew that the fashion show extends to the whole year. It's also fitting since NYFW is taking place. This week, with the help of my little brother and friend, I decided to capture my looks from this week.

Disclaimer: I am completely aware that some of my looks include clothes from brands who take part in unethical practices. To find out more about fast fashion, check out my article here. A majority of my clothes are from these brands since they tend to be more affordable and being a high school student who makes minimum wage, they seemed appealing to me at the time. While I am continuing to wear these clothes, I have decided to stop purchasing from these brands.

TUESDAY: KETCHUP 'N MUSTARD.

While this outfit definitely gives off Gryffindor vibes, I initially thought of the classic condiments: ketchup and mustard.

dress: H&M | crop top and socks: thrifted | ankle booties: TJ Maxx | earrings: gift

WEDNESDAY: PRETTY IN PINK

There is so much pink in this look, and I am living for it. Not only is it cute, but it's also comfortable and compliments the color of my laptop case.

XL men's shirt: thrifted | egg socks: Target | skirt: hand me down! | shoes: H&M | necklace: Delia's | earrings: gift

THURSDAY: FRESH AVOCADO

It'd been the third day of school and my sleep schedule was still wack. You can clearly tell by my lack of enthusiasm in all three pictures. I mean hey, at least I looked snazzy. Bonus points if you get the "fresh avocado" reference.

shirt: H&M | velvet skirt: hand me down | socks: Old Navy | necklace: gift | shoes: Converse

FRIDAY: FINE AND DANDY(LION)

These pictures are a bit blurrier than the rest, but they were taken after practice when I remembered that I hadn't taken any that day. Also, I had been more than a bit silly by the end of the day, hence my dramatic elevator picture.

dress: Topshop | fuzzy knee high socks: thrifted | ankle booties: TJ Maxx | necklaces: my Speech & Debate charms + some old chains I had

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
