Things to do:

Summer Waves WaterPark on Jekyll Island

Want to take a break from the heat? Visit Summer Waves Waterpark! Ride one of the slides, float down the lazy river, lay out to get a nice tan, or hit the wave pool. Don't forget to look at your surroundings at the top of the water-slides... there's beautiful views!

Driftwood Beach

Resembling a tree graveyard, experience the mysterious ways of nature. For those of you that don't know, driftwood has a strong current and visitors should not swim here.

Georgia Sea Turtle Center

Grab a sheet from the front desk and start your journey as a sea turtle yourself. Will you live in the end? Watch a patient feeding, live surgery, and learn more about these amazing creatures.

Watch a Movie on the green (Jekyll Island)

Located in Beach Village, check out their website for days and times. The movies change every week.

Saint Simons Lighthouse

I hope you're not scared of heights! Walk 129 steps to experience wonderful views. The Saint Simons lighthouse is one of only five surviving light towers in Georgia.

Saint Simons Pier Village

Ahh yes, my personal favorite... The Saint Simons pier village. Look around at the shops, grab a bite to eat, people watch, or go fishing. There's always some form of entertainment going on here.

Where to eat?

Georgia Sea Grill and Wine Bar

Although starting off small, Georgia Sea Grill quickly gained a good reputation in the seafood industry. Join executive chef, Jeff Lewis, and the other welcoming staff in this dining experience. Don't forget to try the crab hushpuppies that were featured on the Cooking Channel's, Beach Bites, with Katie Lee!

Sandcastle Cafe & Grill

Located on Mallery Street, eat with the locals for breakfast and lunch. The line is normally long for the popular breakfast buffet, but don't be overwhelmed because it moves fast. However, the food is worth the wait!

Southern Soul Barbeque

The best barbeque around and a local favorite! What else is there to say?

Ocean Lodge Rooftop

Dinner with a view? Coastal cuisine with a Southern twist served amid sea views on the rooftop of the Ocean Lodge.

Iguanas Seafood

This is more of a laid back seafood restaurant. Try their locally caught shrimp and have it prepared for you to order fried, blackened, or broiled. Don't forget your free soft serve ice cream!

Where to stay:

King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort

Saint Simons Inn By The Lighthouse

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
