10 Gifs That Represent My First Semester In College

Let's be honest, I'm a walking gif.

Gifs are the greatest creation that the Internet has seen ever since the creation of the Internet itself. Gifs take clips of Vines, YouTube videos, television shows, and basically anything with motion and cut it down to a small video without sound. I have over 200 gifs saved to my Giphy profile and I am constantly adding more. I relate to gifs based on my mood, like when I started college, my use of gifs amplified by ten thousand. This first semester was a tough one because it's a new environment, but I made it through, even if it meant me acting out these gifs.

1. When the teacher moves on from Unit 1 to Unit 28 in four minutes

I literally make this face in class no matter what happens, if I'm being honest.

3. When I can't find an outfit for a social function three days before the actual party

If I can't find at least three decent outfits to choose from, well...good luck Charlie.

4. When it's the middle of my 11 AM and the instructor keeps trying to talk and lunch starts at 12

I may be overexaggerating, but I'm on a tight schedule and the cafe fills up quickly

5. When I'm in my 8 AM and everyone wants to be loud

I'm already struggling to make it to the class, now staying in it with everyone having high amounts of energy is beyond me.

6. Exams. Assignments. Work.

The title says it all.

7. When its time to eat and you have to decide what to get

I refuse for the Freshman Fifteen to hit me.

8. When everyone discusses their answers after the math test and the answer I got was not even close.

The main reason why I don't even discuss a test with anyone.

9. When I finish an assignment and I check Canvas to see 20 more have been added

Just when I think I'm good for the weekend, my heart breaks into a thousand little pieces.

10. College

I may be a broke college girl, but I refuse to not enjoy my life.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
