5 Tips To Follow Before You Attend Your First Concert
Maggie Kooi

So if you are reading this and haven't been to a concert before, you are in for a real treat. I have been to many concerts and each one has been really special. However, there are some lessons that I have learned from going to them. I hope these lessons help you in going to your first concert!

Here are just a few tips that I have learned from attending concerts:

1. Get to the concert location early:

You will want to have plenty of time to find your seat, buy merchandise, eat a meal, and go to the bathroom. You don't want to be the one walking in the door 5 minutes before the opening act comes on. The lights will be dim or pitch black and you won't be able to see or hear anything at your seat if you decide to wait that long to arrive. Just save yourself the stress and leave your place early.

2. Have your phone charged or have it charging

This may sound silly, but allow me to explain. You will want to have your phone charged or charging on a portable charger when you get to the arena/venue. Trust me, you will want to take lots of great selfies, use your social media, and take some pictures/videos of the concert. Trust me, you will need some battery life at the show.

3. Bring your patience

This pretty much speaks for itself. If you aren't patient it is just going to make your concert experience, not as fun. Also, If you are waiting in a crowded merch line or bathroom line, just be patient. You will get to your seat in plenty of time before the concert starts as long as you follow tip 1.

4. Keep up with your performer on social media

This one may sound a little weird, but if you truly care about the artist you are seeing, you will want to do this. It is a great way to find out what they are up to before the show and will be great entertainment for you as you are waiting in numerous lines before the show starts.

5. Enjoy the concert

Don't focus too much on all the little details when you're at the show. Don't pay attention to what the previous reviews online have said about your performer that evening. Just sit back and relax, you are going to have a really great time!

These are just a few tips I have learned while attending concerts! If you are attending your first concert soon, I hope you have a blast!!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
