FINNEAS: 23 & Changing The World

What They'll Say About Us- Changing the world one song at a time.

FINNEAS: 23 & Changing The World

5 Grammy Nominations. Multi-Instrumentalist. Singer-Songwriter. Bad Ass.

Those are all words that I would personally use to describe FINNEAS. This 23-year-old has smashed goals that some musicians only dream of achieving.

If you didn't know FINNEAS is Billie Eilish's older brother. I bet you also didn't know that he produced and co-wrote her entire last album. (He also wrote "Ocean Eyes" which launched her to stardom). This ultra-talented family has truly been backed by this lyrical genius. Don't get it twisted though, Billie and FINNEAS have two totally different sounds and personas while also being incredibly talented in their own ways.

FINNEAS has topped the Billboard 100, dabbled in acting (you may remember him from Glee), and written a #1 hit for Selena Gomez. Like I said before- Bad Ass.

During this crazy year, and his immense amount of success last year, he is finally starting to put out his own music. FINNEAS released his first single of 2020- "What They'll Say About Us"- after writing it at the end of June. In a statement with Rolling Stones, FINNEAS addressed the purpose of this song and how it was meant to provide solace to those losing loved ones during this pandemic and fighting the racially unequal system. With that being said, go watch the video and see how hard it hits you now.

His newest album was also just released and is sure to have some buzz being generated very soon as it begins its ascent to the top of the charts. But I'll leave that for another article. So until then, stay home, stay safe, and jam out to some FINNEAS.

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.

Amidst my hectic college career, I always find time for one thing, even on the busiest weeks: Parks and Recreation. This show has made me laugh and has made me cry, but most of all I have related to this show more than I would like to admit.
