You spend days, weeks, maybe even a month or two binge watching the same show on Netflix. You are so involved in this show that when you leave the house, that's the only thing on your brain. You feel like you've integrated your way into their world and now you're pretending to be one of their characters. When you come home, that's all you do. You ignore your responsibilities and watch as many episodes as you can stay awake for. Although you are watching as many episodes as you can, you are also trying to prolong the inevitable; the end; that one final episode that sends your world crashing down. And when the show finally does end, what do you do? You can't just jump into a new series! You need time to mourn the loss of your show and characters before you can finally move on. Here are some tips and ideas on how to move on and distract yourself from the ending of your favorite show.

1. Sleep

Chances are, you've been ignoring sleep for God only knows how long. I get it though, you wanted to spend as much of your free time as possible watching this show, even if it meant giving up some of your precious sleep. Well now is your chance to finally close your eyes and get the sleep that your eyeballs are so desperately craving.

2. Cry

Now this one might not be for everyone, but if you're a bit sensitive like me, then the tears are a must. You will feel a lot better after mourning and grieving over the loss of your favorite characters. Or they could be tears of joy over what an amazing show you just watched was. For instance, after watching Game of Thrones episode "The Spoils of War", I spent the next hour afterwards crying over what an achievement that episode was.

3. Get Out of The House

You have probably spent the past few weeks holed up inside of your room for the past few weeks. Get outside! Go and see the sun! It might be bright at first, but we have sunglasses for that! Go get lunch with your friends that you've been avoiding or go for a walk and breathe in the fresh air! I don't care, just step outside!

4. Spend Time With Your Family

Being that you were holed up in your room, did you even bother coming out to say hi to your family at all? I mean, after all, maybe they're the ones paying for the electric you used to watch that show with? You could at least thank them by saying hi once in a while

5. Clean Your Room

Yes, I know and it's okay. You can't be expected to pick up after yourself while watching Netflix. I'm not judging because I do the same exact thing. But now that you have some free time on your hands, maybe just a little quick washing of the sheets and picking up your dirty clothes off the floor might suffice.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
