Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and countless other social media platforms seem to fill our extra time in our lives, and sometimes a little more time than they should. Instead of using social media for the good I have found that we worry about petty things that do not matter. We now spend countless hours taking the right picture, editing the picture, finding the right filter, thinking of a witty caption, and so many more small details. We obsess over so many details that do not matter. All of these things we do bring glory to ourselves not God. I am guilty of trying to portray a perfect image of myself on Social Media. This is a form of idolatry to ourselves and let me tell you we are not worthy of the glory. Jesus deserves all glory and praise.
This is why I think social media platforms can be a great tool for bringing glory to God and proclaiming His Name. I challenge you to do this instead of obsessing over the image you are trying to portray. Actually be who Jesus has called you to be and live your life to the fullest in Him!
"Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness."
Psalm 115:1
