How I Found Something Beautiful Out Of The World's Madness
Savanna Stevie

Life as we know it has changed drastically in the past month and we are all facing the challenges it brings together. Unless you have been living under a rock, a pandemic has arisen across the world and has brought panic to many. Stores have closed and businesses have gone under due to the lack of income, causing the market to drop. Many of the shelves in supermarkets are empty and people stealing toilet paper out of other's shopping carts is something no one ever thought they would have to see. Within all this chaos although, there is something beautiful that has also been seen around the world and that is people coming together to help one another.

No, the world is not ending and soon the panic will evaporate into dust because this will not last forever. For many, this is the first world-changing event we have had to go through. Our era has never had a world war or a draft which is something to be grateful for and appreciate because, with this pandemic, families are brought closer together and left with nothing else to do except loving each other. Things could be much worse so we have to look at the positive side of things during these times to keep us going.

I understand that mental health will be more of an issue with everything going on in the world right now, but there are many ways to help with that. With businesses being closed and only the essential stores remaining open, there are limited things to do during the day. What I do to keep myself productive is I find things to do around the house, whether that be cleaning, reorganizing or even picking up an old hobby, there are many things you can do to keep your sanity.

As I mentioned earlier, beauty has come out of this madness and it is something everyone should take note of. As many of us rewatch television shows or movies, we have begun to see more commercials of people helping people. I have already heard stories about people making meals for those less fortunate and it warms my heart to see helping hands in the world even with everything going on. I know that some businesses will not make it through this time and will be forced to close, but that is the kind of thing we all need to keep in mind when going to the grocery and buying the rest of the meat or toilet paper. We need to remember that a lot of people are losing their jobs and businesses and are barely getting by to put a roof over their family's head.

During this time in our lives, we must stay calm and continue with our regular lives as best as we can. We must also remember that the world has changed and our lives have as well, but that doesn't mean we must panic and fall into this madness. Keep calm and keep your composure because this too will end and when it does, everyone is going to need a helping hand.

Stay safe and stay healthy. Keep thinking positive!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
