Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you just want to isolate yourself into a dark room and cry? Yeah- me too, and its been happening a lot lately. I don't know why and I absolutely despise the fact that it's so easy to get into this state, but sometimes life is just too much and it seems like the best solution is to push people out and be alone. Sounds kinda nice, I know. But listen to this:
We are not called to a place of isolation when the chaos and frustration of life take place. We are being yearned for from a place of total rest.
The enemy throws lies out to us that tell us that we’ll be “better” if we isolate ourselves from others and allow ourselves to be bound by bitterness. When we do this, we put ourselves into chains of restraint that take us into a deeper area of pain and loneliness. BUT- there's good news... The Lord loves us SO MUCH, that He conquered the grave and broke every chain so that we do not have to be slaves to isolation, anger, confusion, or an overwhelmed mind.
We don't have to accept the frustration and torment that dangles from the fingertips of the devil, & instead we can run into the arms of our Savior and find rest in Him.
Jesus invites us to come to Him, just as we are, so that we can find rest in who He is- gentle, kind-hearted, loving, a provider, a protecter, a healer, a miracle-worker, a good, good Father. He wants us to be fully rested and for us to be freely given an abundance of peace because He adores us. He calls all who are weary and burdened to Him and promises that He will give us rest. He tells us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. All we have to do is follow where He calls and claim the restoration that He already has laid out for us… now how awesome is that.
He is waiting so, so eagerly, as if He has just prepared a delicious feast, to give you the rest that you need. Listen to the still whisper, He is inviting you into His arms, just go.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
