Hatred unknowingly radiates our lives. We are jealous, we are mean. Often we grit our teeth behind evidently fake smiles. Peace and love are simply ideals, whereas respect is but a fantasy. Our happiness is burdened by our own doing... yet we refuse to acknowledge the strife we place upon our lives.
Life is simple, yet humanity, it seems, has made it chaotic. As a whole we have created a plethora of issues that seem far too complex to fix in one sitting. If not confronted with war, we experience the tragedies of murder and rape. And if that is not enough to take on, we provide ourselves the burdens of racism. Continents are literally divided by the notion of superiority based on language, ethnicity and economy. Get it now? Prejudice dictates practically all areas of our world. But be sure not to forget the value of economic status: where the rich feed from the hands of the poor, and in return the less fortunate are tempted to take what is not theirs. And even still, we are surrounded with lavish hotels and extravagant homes, followed by merely hundreds of those without shelter whilst we walk by with our latest gadgets neglecting to give out a dollar, assuming it might be used for something other than food. Our problem is immediate judgement, for we raise an eyebrow far too quick before we fully understand. In fact, this habit is so profound that we directly criticize before we have the chance to love ourselves. We become instantly jealous, omitting what we should be grateful for... all the result of pressure and the faults of humanity.
To make matters worse, there are threads within broken homes, where husbands and wives cheat. Drugs become a life-threatening treat and relationships are tarnished by numerous mishaps and disrespect. People no longer consider the affects of their acts upon others. In a great sense, we are becoming selfish and in tune with what we want, completely disregarding the presence of those we love. Life is enveloped with lies, violence and a mass of people who are numb. Our actions are traced with malicious intent, and yet we expect the best to come. There is no solid solution. Not one single repair.
A simple and honest mindset might help change the masses. Despite the corruption and hardship, there can be times of pure happiness, where pain and struggle are minuscule matters, hatred and violence mean nothing, and money is but a figure. We perceive our world with a diminished value, influencing our peace of mind, when in reality we are totally capable of contentment. Elation is not a mentality but rather part of a journey. In other words, the most beautiful moments can be found in life's simplest subtleties.
